I know there are a lot of graphic design companies out there dying to get your business and design your watermark for you but I'm going to show you how to make a watermark with FREE resources...
See... Below is my watermark that I use for all my photography and yes...I made this with Picmonkey! Isn't it cute???
About a year ago I decided to try and create my own watermark for my photography work for obvious reasons of copyright. This tutorial will show you how to copyright photo's. I had been using PicMonkey for a while just to play around with and stumbled across a very useful tool, "making your canvas transparent"! Follow the directions below to make your own. ;)
1. Start with going to www.picmonkey.com and click on "design", see below.
2. Next, don't set the background to transparent just yet, or you wont be able to see what you are doing. We will get to that last. Now what you want to do is design! Use the text, overlays (butterfly symbol) and whatever else you can find. I'm going to create another watermark to show you how.
**hint.. If you don't see an overlay that fits your style, google "free png files". Find a png (overlay) file that you like, save it and upload it from your computer where it says "add your own". In the watermark above, I found the multicolored banner by doing this. Also, you can increase the opacity to your liking (on the right of this screen aka "fade").
Below, as you can see, you can upload your own png. file.
3. Once you have your design like you want it. Go to the "crop" symbol on the left menu, then canvas color and click "transparent canvas". This will erase the background leaving your design as an overlay aka watermark.
4. Now you are ready to save it! It will automatically to save it as a png file since it is now an overlay.
5. Now use it! Wahlaa!
